Pedaling Toward Innovation: Measuring Sunlight Exposure at the Tour de France

This summer, the Tour de France isn’t just a test of endurance and speed—it’s also a pioneering platform for environmental data collection. Replior is proud to announce that we’ve partnered with Pelotan, the high-performance sun protection brand trusted by elite cyclists, to deploy UV sensors throughout the race route and measure real-time sunlight exposure.

Why It Matters

Cyclists spend hours each day exposed to intense sunlight, often at high altitudes and under varying weather conditions. By collecting detailed UV radiation data during the race, Replior’s collaboration with Pelotan aims to:

  • Track UV intensity patterns across geographic regions and weather conditions
  • Contribute to research on skin health, performance impact, and environmental monitoring
  • Highlight the importance of sun safety for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts

Technology Meets Sun Protection

Our compact UV sensors are mounted on race vehicles and strategic points along the course, delivering live data on UV exposure to Repliors clinical research data collection platform. Combined with Pelotan’s mission to protect athletes through scientifically formulated sun care, this initiative enables a smarter, safer ride—from the Pyrenees to Paris.

Leading the Peloton on Safety

Together with Pelotan, we’re helping athletes and fans alike understand the impact of UV exposure and the importance of proactive protection—on race day and every day.
